Dr. Ferris founded Tranquility Now™ in March of 2023 for several important reasons presented in The Present, The Challenge, and The Background.

Battle weary, the flower eventually breaks through the surface covered in mud and uncomely ...until.... the first rain fall. The first rain fall brings with it a profound cleansing and restoration, thus revealing one of the most gorgeous and reverent flowers on earth.

The Present
Never before in recent memory has humanity as a whole undergone such emotional, physical, mental and spiritual hardship. Given today’s current landscape it was clear that many people needed an escape from the daily pressures that would yield immediate benefits to their overall wellness while providing a boost to their physical and emotional well being, … all while not breaking the bank.
It was from this premise that Tranquility Now™ was born.
The need was recognized for the people of Rochester to have a trusted resource to take control of their own self care to restore well being, foster healing, and promote rest and peacefulness. With this in mind, Dr. Ferris took it upon himself to create a one of its kind luxury Zero Gravity Automated Massage Spa with Guided Meditation thus delivering an immersion experience unlike anything else.
Tranquility Now™ was built so guests would feel confident that they now had access to a scientific, trusted methodology to overcome the debilitating limitations of fatigue, stress, anxiety, and soreness. This can now all be offered while remaining sensitive to the budget friendly requirements of today's hardships. It is with this vision that Tranquility Now™ stands ready to serve its community with excellence and compassion thus giving the people of Rochester the tranquil, self care, healing experience that they deserve.
The Challenge
One of the main hurdles was vetting the manufacturers who aligned with his core values, ethos and most importantly who truly delivered on their brand promise. Dr. Ferris discovered that not all massage chairs are created equal. As an example, he wouldn’t advise the mass production use of low end clunky chairs found in the hallways of airports, malls and in many cases even the big box stores. He found these oftentimes caused more soreness even after only short periods of use. They just didn’t measure up. Tapping into his 20+ years of expertise in the field musculoskeletal pain relief and his intimate knowledge of human physiology he endeavored to search high and low even traveling extensively to locate, personally use, and critically evaluate the effectiveness of the various manufacturers, all while “grading” them in the process.

The Background
Dr. Ferris served in the United States Army on Active Duty in a mechanized infantry unit with the Second Armored Division in Fort Hood, Texas. After completing his duty with an honorable discharge, he was reactivated to duty in support of Operation Desert Storm. Dr. Ferris continued to serve his country for 11 more years in the United States Army Reserves as a Chaplain Assistant with a no nonsense, plain language, compassionate, approach of caring for the varied emotional and spiritual needs of 1000’s of soldiers.
Dr. Ferris graduated from Bowling Green State University with a bachelor’s degree in Biology. Thereafter, he began a career with Johnson and Johnson selling pharmaceuticals. After many successful years with JNJ and looking for a new challenge, he accepted a position with Tyco Medical Division. With Tyco he sold medical devices in the operating room to surgeons and hospitals. Having a unique, up close and personal perspective on a medical model largely dependent on “drugs & surgery”, Dr. Ferris began to become disillusioned with a healthcare system heavily influenced by enormous marketing efforts by “Big Pharma”. It was at this time that a friend recommended he visit a Chiropractor for low back pain. This decision sprouted a turning point as Dr. Ferris personally benefited from complementary and alternative medicine (CAM). Awakened by the fact that the human body was designed with an inherent recuperative power capable of healing without the use of drugs and surgery most of the time, he reevaluated the direction of his career and life. In January 2002, he enrolled at New York Chiropractic College.
Dr. Ferris founded Modern Chiropractic in Victor, NY in 2005. He subsequently earned a reputation as a forward thinking innovator, a caring human being, and a deliverer of satisfied outcomes for his patients. He successfully created one of the most technologically advanced Chiropractic centers in Western New York along with a dedicated team who all shared a commitment to excellence. This focus and dedication allowed them to earn a 4.9 out of 5 positive Google rating on average over the past 17 years. This stellar rating served as an impetus for Dr. Ferris to become the recipient of the NYS TOP 10 Chiropractors Patient Satisfaction Award given judiciously by the American Institute of Chiropractors. Dr. Ferris has received this honor for seven consecutive years dating from 2016-2022.
The American Institute of Chiropractors recognizes excellence of practitioners in the field. They compile an exclusive list of the “10 Best” Chiropractors for each State. This is a prestigious honor for the Chiropractor as each Chiropractor must:
- Be formally nominated by the board, patients, and/or a fellow Chiropractor;
- Have attained the highest degree of professional achievement in his or her field; and
- Having done so with an impeccable Client Satisfaction rating.
Dr. Ferris was raised in Cleveland, Ohio by two loving parents and is the youngest of three brothers. He used to train Shamu at SeaWorld and he owns a Boxer named Champ, arguably the world’s most handsome boxer.
